A fragrant and healthy side dish
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse rice and soak for 15 minutes. Drain.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
- Add turmeric and mix well.
- Add rice, salt, and water. Stir and bring to a boil.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 12-15 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and garnish with coriander.
