Turmeric Rice 🍚

A fragrant and healthy side dish

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse rice and soak for 15 minutes. Drain.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
  3. Add turmeric and mix well.
  4. Add rice, salt, and water. Stir and bring to a boil.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Fluff with a fork and garnish with coriander.
